Overall, I'm in considerably less pain than expected, especially since I didn't bicycle commute at all last year, and gained 20-30 pounds as a consequence. I shall avoid wooden chairs for the next day, though. Perhaps will ride again on Friday if I recover, driving to a conference tomorrow.
On a road bike, with a higher level of physical fitness, the inbound ride took me <60 minutes. All things considered (particularly my waistline), 70 minutes is a respectable time.
Goals:
- work up to 2-3 bicycle commutes a week by end of March
- aim towards riding the entire distance home for first time this year by early April
- lose most of the spare tire by July
- increase chocolate consumption by July
